Guns Law Mom Freedom

Posted by midcan5 On April - 20 - 2009

What the heck is it with Gun registration?

We are a country of laws, why these particular laws mean so much to so many is baffling.

Can someone tell me why there is no protest over motor vehicle laws, registration, testing, licensing, and inspections. For the freedom lovers shouldn’t freedom mean freedom in all things. Forget all those laws!

Pelosi is a mom and like your mom she tries to keep children safe. Bad analogy? The NRA has great power over politics, it could even be said that the first Tea party participants would protest just that power over our politics and our laws.

All you freedom lovers please exercise that freedom by crossing busy streets whenever and wherever you like. And if someone yells at you, tell them the Constitution grants you that freedom. Oh and make sure your insurance is paid up. Bad analogy II? Check the statistics on accidental gun deaths sometime.

Why would law abiding people be opposed to any law. In many other areas this is often asked. No right is written in stone - the world changes, I doubt the British will be attacking anytime soon.

If you really love America and its laws, you would support gun control as our law enforcement people need it so they too can be safe.

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Why does everyone skip over regulated? And who exactly does ‘people’ refer to?

Excellent piece on the 2nd Amendment.

A few thoughts on Tea Day

Posted by midcan5 On April - 15 - 2009

It is hard to imagine that in just two hundred years, Tea Day is no longer about controlling corporate monopoly, but has become a bunch of sore losers, who can only play the one trump card in their deck - Taxes! Imagine the founding mothers/fathers protesting taxes that will support the nation, its people, and its infrastructure? Are some so blindly partisan, that helping America is now a bad thing?

While the nation sank in debt, started a wasteful illegal war, gave tax relief to the wealthy, and allowed our infrastructure to collapse as jobs and work went overseas, these so called modern patriots were doing what exactly? Does anyone know? Has anyone seen anything on FOX ‘pretend to be news’ about any issue that affects average Americans? I hear average Americans watch it?

Yogi said it best, ‘deja vu all over again.’ When political power is challenged, the armies of naysayers appear everywhere telling you how bad the current democrat is and yet I ask again, where were they when the roots of all this started. Roots I place in ideas and theories that started to gain too much power when Reagan won election. And yet Reagan (see below) eventually realized the policies were not working, and reversed course, raising taxes.

So we have a choice, do we protest the things that help all Americans, or do we, as the sore losers do, bring taxes up again and again and again, and let the country deteriorate, as it did these past eight years? Which is it.

“Civilization has to be defended against the individual, and its regulations, institutions, and commands are directed to that task.” Sigmund Freud

Reagan and taxes.

Buy American - Support Yourself

Posted by midcan5 On April - 2 - 2009

Isn’t that contrary to the economic theories that claim products should be produced where they can be produced the cheapest? Everyone benefits according to these theories. So then ask yourself if I don’t have a job, if my skill set has been outsourced, if my wages are now third world wages, how exactly does that theory help me? America was founded on the freedom to work but what if there is no work.

So I want to propose a novel idea, buy American, support yourself. Why? Simply because if the people all across the nation work, then they buy and sell; that is real trickle down, actually we’ll rename it trickle around.

Reasons for not buying American are obvious. Nothing is made here anymore. Why is that, mainly because theory says cut off your nose to spite your face and then through magic the nose will heal. We, as a family, have tried for over thirty years to buy American. Our cars are American, as a matter of fact, our new Buick is rated number one in quality. Our bicycles are American, my tools are American. I just bought a screw driver set in Kmart, Craftsman still makes tools here. Shop around.

So do this starting today, ask any business you deal with to purchase American products and tell them clearly that you would sure appreciate it. Buy American made cars, bikes, and whatever you can find. If you call for information, help, or support and a foreign voice answers, tell the company in writing you don’t appreciate it. If America loses its industrial base, we will soon become a third world nation of the haves and the rest of us. And there is no need for tariffs that cause unnecessary complexity, just do it, buy American. And thanks, as you are supporting me too and of course, you.
